Watson, Neal & York Funeral Home is an independent family owned full service funeral home located on Rt. 25 in Cornish Maine . We are located about an hour from Portland, ME, two hours from Boston , and 45 minutes from North Conway, New Hampshire. Joseph L. Watson is the funeral director and has been working in funeral service for over 25 years. His family owned and operated the Neal and York Funeral Home, formerly in Gorham, Maine and Kezar Falls, Maine for many years. The Cornish, Maine location has the unique luxury of having a spectacular view of the foothills of the White Mountains in the chapel itself. The view offers a comfortable and soothing view no matter what the season or what the Maine weather may be doing outside. Many have commented on the peacefulness of being able to look past the casket at the beautiful ME wilderness.

Offering Professional Cremation Services and Green Burials

Watson, Neal & York offers a wide variety of services from traditional funeral services to direct cremation service with several options in between. Something relatively new to us is called a “green burial”. Coincidentally, one of Maine’s 2 green cemeteries is located just a few miles away. A green burial is an interment where no chemicals, metal, plastics or concrete are allowed in the burial site. An unfinished wood casket may be used, but is not mandatory.

We offer the ability to pre-pay for your final expenses. Many people like the idea of paying at today’s prices and having the guarantee that their final expenses will not be a burden on their children or other loved ones. Funerals and cremations can certainly be an expense that no one thinks about until they are forced to. We strive to make our prices fair, and to make a very difficult time a little easier by taking care of all the details that make a ceremony special.

Cremation

Cremation is a convenient way to keep your love ones close to you. The ashes are kept in a decorative urn and can accompany any living space. We can also bury the ashes, or some people wish to have their ashes dispersed in to the world at a certain memorable location posthumously. It is also a cheaper option than buying a plot in often overcrowded cemeteries. Watson Neal & York Funeral Home excels at cremation service.
